Welcome to the Lincoln Branch of the British Cactus & Succulent Society (BCSS)

 

We are active club who meet on the second Wednesday of each month, except for August when we arrange an evening out at a local cactus nursery.

2009 is our 50th anniversary. The Lincoln branch has survived and run continuously for 50 years. We are also proud that we have always held an annual show and we will mark this anniversary with a special show this year.

11th February - Members slides All are welcome to bring either slides or electronic images

11th March - John Arnold (Bolivia Part 2) Our branch is honoured to have the Society Chairman as a member

8th April -  Rob Stevenson (Hybrids) The world of the weird and the wonderful.

13th May - Ray Stephenson (The Ron Evans Memorial Sedum Collection) Sedums are great plants for beginners.

10th June - Ralph Tomlinson (A View of Venezuela) The arid Andes, what can survive there?

4th July - 50th Anniversary Branch Show

8th July - Geoff Bailey (South of Mexico City) Editor of the Ariocarpus web site www.living-rocks.com, Geoff is a very knowledgeable speaker 

12th August - Evening out at Southfield Nursery

9th September - Graham Hole (Odds & Ends from Argentina) Argentina hosts some of the more popular cacti

14th October - John Henshaw (Chile & Argentina 2006) John is the owner of Croston Cactus Nursery and an interesting speaker. What interesting plants will he bring to sell?

11th November - Adrian Weatherill (Round & About part 2, The Genus Astrophytum) Saving the best 'til last

9th December - Buffet Supper & members forum Highly popular social evening which is one of the best attended evenings of the year

13th January - AGM & members slides Not your typical boring AGM, plenty of time for engaging discussion.
